The secret place is a place of intimacy with the Lord and a place where one experience continuous renewal and restoration. I call it as a place of divine exchange. I love this place although there are times I step in with a heavy heart. Nonetheless I will emerge out most times rejoicing, strengthen or feeling hopeful. I may not necessarily have all my questions answered but there will be a deep peace deposited in my spirit.
The more we feel the world around us going topsy-turvy, the more we should spend time in the secret place and engage with the Lord in a heart-to-heart talk. The secret place is not one that you step in just to get some benefits out of it, or have some prayers answered. On the contrary, it is a place you have to be willing to GIVE IT ALL (to Jesus). It is a place of honest surrender; where all our rights and burdens are laid down. In that divine exchange, we will find our peace and joy and sometimes, the revelation and insights we need.
As the psalmist David said, “I’m asking God for one thing, only one thing: To live with Him in His house my whole life long… That’s the only quiet, secure place in a noisy world, the perfect getaway, far from the buzz of traffic.” (Psalm 27:4-5 NLT) So come away, dear friends, to that place of refreshing today…the perfect getaway! The Lord is always waiting. It is a call to deeper friendship with Him.
